Kelly Tighe
Instructor
Kelly Tighe has been acting since the age of 3, first discovering the writings of Shel Silverstein and “performing” them for her family on what she still calls “Grammie’s Front Porch.”
She went on to study Musical Theatre at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where she performed at The Kennedy Center and participated in the documentary Defiant Requiem, performing Requiem (Verdi) in Prague.
Kelly is a proud SAG-AFTRA actor whose credits include over half a dozen national commercial campaigns, as well as TruTV’s I’m Sorry, Faith Based starring Jason Alexander, and A Beautiful Day, in which she starred opposite James Brolin. In addition to her work on screen, she creates original content, developing and producing her own short films and digital projects.
Onstage, she has appeared as Mary Lou in No Place to Be Somebody and Squeaky Fromme in Assassins.
Since 2017, Kelly has been an acting coach and teacher, working with actors at every level—from beginners to series regulars. She provides private coaching for auditions, on-set work, and career development, with students booking major roles across film and television. Her clients have included actors appearing on network and streaming series. She is also a trusted on-set coach for young performers in national commercial campaigns for brands such as Wells Fargo and Kia, helping talent deliver confident, authentic performances under real production conditions.
Kelly believes art can change the world in an instant. She teaches at Richard Lawson Studios because the training helped her build an exciting, tangible career in the arts, and she is passionate about helping other artists do the same.
