With the industry shifting towards self-tapes as the standard for auditioning, this class will teach you to set yourself apart from other actors and help you answer these important questions:
- Performance-wise, does your uniqueness resonate on camera?
- Can you create a relationship with the character(s) that you’re talking to?
- Do you utilize the frame to tell a story?
- Do you know that you’re a genius until proven otherwise and that you should trust your instincts?
- Do you have a grasp of your casting?
- Do you know and believe that it’s your job to lose?
- Technically speaking, do you have everything you need to showcase your artistry in your best light?
- Does your background complement your skin tone and create great contrast?
- Do your lighting and wardrobe make your eyes pop?
- Is your room set up for proper sound so that there is no reverberation or ambient sound?
In this Master Class, Richard Lawson and the guest instructor assess working actors on their technical setups and both technical and emotional aspects of their performance. Both working and observing students will walk away with a greater reality on what it takes to create a self-tape audition that looks professional and showcases their skillsets.
This master class will be taught by Richard Lawson with special returning guest, casting director Kim Coleman.
